Private browser tool

Check the photograph before you personalise.

Inspect file quality on this device, then complete the human checks that software should not guess. The image is never sent to Yoopbook by this tool.

Choose a photograph to begin

Nothing leaves your browser.

Once you choose a file, the checker reads dimensions, overall exposure, contrast and visible detail locally. It then asks you to confirm the human and permission questions.

Inspectable methodology

Software checks the file. People check the responsibility.

The browser measures four narrow signals. It does not run face recognition, infer identity, estimate age, read EXIF location or decide whether somebody has permission to use the image.

Browser evidence

  • JPEG, PNG or WebP can be decoded locally.
  • The shorter image side is at least 700 pixels.
  • Average brightness avoids extreme shadow or washout.
  • Contrast and edge detail clear a conservative heuristic.

Human evidence

  • Exactly one primary person is visible.
  • The face and useful body context are unobstructed.
  • Colour and appearance remain representative.
  • The uploader has the required authority and permission.

Why the result is called a candidate

Global thresholds cannot understand every skin tone, lighting condition, disability, cultural context or artistic source image. A warning asks for review; it is not a judgement about the person or the photograph’s emotional value.

When a check needs review

Fix the source, not the score.

Small image

Return to the original camera file. Messaging apps, screenshots and social downloads often remove useful detail.

Very dark or bright

Choose a frame with soft daylight on the face. Avoid a bright window directly behind the person.

Low visible detail

Look for a sharper frame without motion blur, portrait-mode mistakes, heavy filtering or aggressive compression.

Before you choose a file

Privacy and suitability questions.

Does this tool upload or store the photograph?

No. The checker creates a temporary browser preview and reads pixels on this device. It does not send the file to Yoopbook, save it to an account or include it in analytics.

Does a passing result guarantee production approval?

No. The automatic checks are deliberately narrow heuristics for format, dimensions, overall exposure and visible tonal detail. A person still needs to confirm composition, identity, permission and suitability for the chosen role.

Can I use one group photograph for two people?

Not as the primary source for both roles. A multi-person story normally needs one separately supplied photograph per declared person so each identity-to-role mapping stays clear.

Why does the checker ask about permission?

Image quality and authority are different questions. A technically clear photograph should not be shared or used unless the uploader has the appropriate permission, including guardian authority where a child is involved.
